W.

We love W so much here at the University of Wisconsin that we plant a giant W every spring. (Click to enlarge.)

Later in the summer, it will be filled in quite lushly.

ah, but will they plant a "dubya?"

And what plant would a "dubya" be?

Heh. Ron beat me to the punch! These must be very trying times for Badgers -- "W" stickers everywhere, and nothing to show for it but unreconstructed conservativism.

There was almost no evidence of Bush support in Madison. But when the Kerry people came to town they brought signs that had a W with a "no" mark (slashed circle) over it, which was not only incredibly insensitive to the local culture but also entirely unnecessary.

Brendan: That digustingly ugly building is actually slated for demolition!

Ann: That horrid Kerry and crew seem to have been engaging in some Wolverine Terrorism...for all the good it did them!

Here's a post I did back in January about the plan to raze a lot of the campus eyesores. It's not because they are ugly, but because it's more expensive to do the needed renovations that to start over. Getting rid of the ugly is just a side benefit.
