I needed something to cheer up with. I was pretty upset when I read about how, after the British spent millions of dollars of taxpayer money to send hurricane relief aid here, we incinerated it because of bureaucracy.
Eli, I think you might be a little bit more upset than necessary. The article you linked doesn't say that the food has been incinerated. It says that it might be -- along with a lot of wildly inaccurate and over-the-top rhetoric about "starvation" in the American South. I can't find any other article on the subject on Google News to back up the claim.
If it's true that food aid is being destroyed, there's no question that it would be the height of ingratitude and foolish bureaucracy. But notice that the FDA worker quoted in the article doesn't seem to know what the reporter is talking about. This is the MSM, remember, not to mention the Mirror. It's quite possible that the reporter got the facts wrong. Hold off on getting too upset until we find out if it's true.
