Is this the third time you've posted that photo?

Yes, but each time it's been different. Can you tell?

The coffee is now cold?

chuck b. said...

No, the coffee is brown now instead of gray which is an improvement because last time it reminded me of mercury and that focused all my attention.

All color, only bottle colored, and bottle+coffee colored.

Did I just answer in the most boring way possible?

Very clever, whoever did that! Nice composition or whatever it's called in the art world.

This latest is the most elegant yet; the composition is improved by the color of the coffee. And the chair back better displays the blue bottle in greyscale rather than the original tan.

Yes.

Agreed. What Mehera said.

The photograph is by my son, John Althouse Cohen, in case that isn't obvious by now.... He also does the tinkering with the photos.

You can click on these photos and get to the flickr page.

A pretty good picture in color, more striking in b&w and keeping only the color of the bottle, and then lessened with the coloring of the coffee. Less = more.

I'd like to see a word or phrase hilighted in the text of the notebook. Then, there are three things brought forward with color--better still if the word hilighted had something to do with liquids. For some reason, I look for threes in photo composition.

Yeah, but I don't see a tip being left in any of the photos! Your readers who were former waiters demand answers from him.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Undecided: It was Ann's idea. See the note on the coffee in the black, white, and blue version.

Neil: I didn't leave a tip; I was in Paris.

I keep noticing the pair of feet in the background. Adds an air of mystery!
