Audible Althouse, #21.
Here. Drugs taken and not taken, dispensed by doctors and friends; lobotomies; whom to cast in the various roles if they ever make a movie of the new biography of Sandra Day O'Connor; not wanting to eat in an empty restaurant; how scary "Rodan" and the eagle owl are; and how a few stray words about Open Source Media (the erstwhile Pajamas Media) led to a spew of comments calling me things like "a Berkeley house whore." 41 minutes.

Now every time I hear of Open Source Media I am going to think "Org-OSM!" I guess that's better than "Open Sores."
You are now officially my hero.
You may be a house whore, but you're definitely not a house negro.
Although being Caucasian, you were probably never in much danger.
But still.
Why are you spreading these vicious memes against OSM? Wouldn't it have been better to encourage them if you thought the site were somewhat deficient (which it is)? What's all this crazy talk about sores and semen? All very very strange.
"Semen-esque" made me laugh.
Johannes: I can't spread memes. Memes are memes because they are contagious. I just happen to say some things that are catchy, so they spread. That's why you're calling them memes. What am I supposed to do? Tone it down and not say such catchy things? I've been trying to avoid saying much about OSM today. If I had actually meant to go after it and had set my mind to that -- oh, my dear, you have no idea what that would look like. Signed, Your Berkeley House Whore.
Ann, I will never make fun of Wisconsin's weather again. It's not worth the risk!
Abe Vigoda is still alive. He appears on Conan O'Brien frequently.
Not only is Abe Vigoda alive, but you can get an extension for Firefox that makes sure you are aware of his aliveness or deadness every time you fire up your browser.
version 2.61 just came out
'60's catchphrases? You bet your bippy! I think of Lurch from The Addams Family saying "You Rang?"
Upon further reflection, I see the late Marty Feldman as the owl. (Hey, if they can put Brando in the upcoming Superman movie -- and they are! -- how much dialog does Feldman need to play an owl?)
Despite Festering Pustules Media, we like our uppity, drunk, on drugs, Berkeley House Whore! Or was that comment in Bad Taste?
You need to remark on the podcast about the comments section of the previous podcast...and down the rabbit hole we go!
Wait, wait! Abe Vigoda as Rodan! What was I thinking?
Ice-pick to bio-pic. mini-meme.
No more a Berkely house whore:
now you're a Boozey Tom Cruise-y Floozie!
Geez, do you think you could say "semen" a few more times, there? (Although I do have to wonder what kind of experiences you have with guys in pajamas, given that you connect "guy in pajamas" with "semen".)
Hey--"memes" is like "semen" backwards! It's yet another slight against the bloggeyosphere!
