"The commander in chief was doing a dignified little head-nod to the beat."

The Washington Post thinks the President should have been more demonstrative, but you can imagine what the pictures in the paper would look like if he in fact stood up and danced. The song, by the way, was "Nutbush City Limits," the singer, Melissa Etheridge, the honoree -- of course -- Tina Turner.

But even the president of the United States sometimes must have to stand up and groove a bit.

Remember when Bush danced during his trip a year or so ago to I think Russia or some country in the Caucuses where he took a turn on the dance floor and he was ridiculed far and wide over it. Bush is Damned if he danced and Damned if he dancen't

The box on his back can tell him when to nod, but giving him dance instructions is really out of scope.

Enjoying Melissa Etheridge? Jesus wept! If I'd known that last November I'd've voted for Nader. Or whoever the Libertarian was. Or wrote in Neko Case.

Also it's one thing for Cheney's hand to extend through the chair, but it's just not long enough for the dance floor.

What do you think Rob? Sally? Alan?

the gala will be broadcast Dec. 27 on CBS -- reason to invoke the two-second delay.

My calendar is MARKED! I don't watch much Tee-Vee, but I'll watch this!

And Ron, re MoDo: LOL! I'd love to see THAT!
