"American Idol" -- the results.

Well, I was surprised. I thought sure Lisa would go, but if not Lisa, then Bucky. Yet it was Kevin Corvais who came out on the bottom. I can only think that Simon's devious trick of embracing him proved to be the kiss of death.

1. Barry Manilow flew out to help the production of the #1 TV show "on his own dime"? Am I the only one who thought that vaguely weird? Or that it was mentioned twice?

2. OK..I watched Unan1mous right after. Damn you Fox. I am hooked. I don't care about these silly people, but I want to see things get vicious. Ann must blog it.

Bye bye Kevin! Simon's devious trick is surely welcome in my book.

Ruth Anne - I just saw last week's show tonight. For Chris, the arrangement was definitely all Chilis. But, vocally I can see how he felt he was mixing it up. Anthony Kiedis doesn't sing all the runs - he has a really steady voice.

Kevin had to go.

It's nothing compared to what just happened to Chef though. Revoltingly awesome.

Sorry to anticipate a thread...

It's very sad that the fruity club mixed up Chef's brain.

Hey, there's a new post on "South Park"! Please go there.

Manilow sucked all the life out of the show tonight. Ryan did not get the time to work his magic, teasing us with suspense tactics! I cry foul!

The only way to watch the results show (or Idol generally) is on TiVo -- it took about five minutes, and our brief national nightmare is over.

Kevin coulda stayed one more week if he had just sassed Simon again. I would have advised him to get in touch with his inner smartass and give Simon lip at every opportunity.

Chris O'Brien,
No, you are not alone! ["Barry Manilow flew out..own dime...vaguely weird."] It was even odder when Manilow countered the second mention by saying to Ryan "don't worry about [paying me back]". My husband and I actually discussed what was possibly going on here while our teenage sons looked at us in sorrow.

(I was going to leave a comment about Hamlet's father's ghost and beards on Ann's beard thread this morning bit - frankly - this is more intriguing!)

Barry Manilow has a new CD to promote. Enough said.
