The Firedoglake/Crooks & Liars sofa.

Here's TRex (of Firedoglake) and John Amato (of Crooks & Liars), blogging away. They seem pretty friendly. One is much more outgoing than the other.

Bloggers

In the background are Betsy Newmark and Lorie Byrd, with John from Americablog in the middle.

From TRex's blog: Ann Althouse came by a few minutes ago and took photos of me and John Amato. Amato was nice to her. I just growled under my breath and kept typing. Comity is one thing, but I thought that her writing about the infamous Clinton lunch was inexcusable.

Well Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse Me!

I cheated and read Firedoglake, so I know it was Trex who was the little bitch. It was amusing how he whined about your treatment of the asskissing at the Clinton lunch. From the same website that painted Lieberman in blackface and called him Rape Gurney Joe.

I once posted a message in a TRex thread. As they do with all dissenting messages on that hateful, nutty blog, it was quickly deleted. But he went an unethical step further and actually typed in a new message saying the opposite of what I said under my screenname. Interesting to see what the dhouchebag looks like - a dork!

Here's a link to the article "Last Year at Marienbad: An Intertextual Meditation" from the Senses of Cinema website.

http://www.sensesofcinema.com/contents/00/10/marienbad.html

For me, the key passage was:

"Borges and Casares are more progressive than Robbe-Grillet and Resnais in their comfort with intertextuality, but I believe they are extremely traditional in their view of false realities and false people. I believe this in spite of their elegant and advanced ontological play, and play they did."

Those two look mighty serious. Boys, it's a party! The fight is over, shake hands and have a nosh!

Must be hard work carrying around those chips on their shoulders.

Betsy's got some data up on exit polling, trending Democratic, though incomplete. Would love to see your analysis of some of those polls when you get the chance.

It must be interesting hanging with all the different ideological bloggers! Looks like you're having fun -- and keep the pictures coming!

Ann,

Are you surprised at the room setup? Is everyone hunched over laptops sitting on coffee tables? They should offer free massages if that's the case.

Actually, the light was bad, so all the pictures with smiling were blurred. This was therefore the best of the pictures, though John was smiling in all the others. As for TRex, he's interesting to photograph. The fact that he expends energy hating me is his burden, of course. I've never spent any time thinking about him and don't intend to start now.

CNN should give you a commission...I signed up to their stinkin' pipeline. Just for tonight.

That "TRex" is a humorless and hate-filled individual with no manners is a surprise to approximately nobody who had read Firedoglake. If you reversed the polarity on a Little Green Footballs commenter's political views and gave him his own blog, you'd have Firedoglake.

I particularly like the bit about Ann's comments being "inexcusable", particularly in light of all the behavior the guy IS willing to excuse. :)

I just got back into town after a 2 day corporate meeting. 3.5 hour drive back in fog and rain. yuck.

I listened to NPR on the radio. I was struck, but not surprised at the bias and story line.

1. Dem sweeping out GOP incumbents was the main pitch.
2. if a Rep was winnering, they just referred to the office holder without the (R). "e.g. Olympia Snow from Maine has been declared the winner"
3. They did a segment on Conn. Featured the fact that 3 GOP congressmen were likely losers. Joe Lieberman was an un-person. no mention of the largets race in the state.

Shouldn't the guy on the left be getting back to the studioto finish up the next Depeche Mode album...?

I am floored. I cannot believe the people responsible for those blogs are that old. I'm not kidding. I would have guessed both of them were run by someone in their early-20s, mid-20s at the oldest. Yikes.

I have a terrible crush on HuffPo's Bob Cesca, now. Nobody told me he was as tall as a water-tower. Jeez, Louise. I was watching him from across the room thinking that he looked familiar, but not wanting to go over and introduce myself in case he turned out to be someone from RedState or some brain donor farm like that.

Nothing to do with politics, this guy's just an frickin' asshole.

Good forbid he might wind up qboombn' (or either just talkin') with somebody who's not 100% ideologically sympatico.

The big difference is that TRex is a blogger on one of the biggest blogs, not an anonymous commenter. Yes, many of the commenters at LGF are crazy and extreme, but the LGF blog itself is fantastic. It has broken several major stories that have led to the MSM having to re-examine its practices, and each and every day provides information about Islamo-fascists around the world that the MSM does not. I actually don't even know what Charles' politics are beyond the war.

Oh, I agree LGF is a good blog, although too strident for me. The commenters are, however, nutty nutbags from Nuttistan.
