"I am the warrior..."

What I'm listening to right now...

... and it's not because I think a dirty libtard pirate whore is some kind of warrior. It's that I was just asked how to spell "worrier" and hearing "warrior," this song immediately played in my head. Having listened to it now, I feel quite fierce as I face a weekend of a dirty libtard pirate whoring.

So what do you think: Patty Smyth or Lady Gaga?

Either song is fine (as long as you actually rebut the criticism from Ace and not just make fun of one comment from his blog).

I haven't read Ace's post in its entirety yet. I've been busy. I will. But on scanning, I thought he didn't get to the stuff at the end of my post, so...

Ah the 80's.

Gosh the director of that video must have won some Academy Award or something. That acting was fine!

Any serious pirate whore should be familiar with the following turn of phrase:

crack Jenny’s tea cup

To spend the night in a house of ill repute.

We love the the wit of the original DLPW more than we like either of the dancers of doom videos.

Do I have to pick just one?

Patty Smyth, definitely. I guess Meade can be the vampire guy.

The stuff at the end of your original post ("she doesn't know how dumb she still is") assume facts not in evidence and is therefore completely unsupported by the excerpts provided. I do like the new "masthead" though.

Ahoy matie!!!

OT: We saw some 2-billion-year-old, fossilized pond scum today. (Seriously.) So awesome! (I kid you not.) I love sweeps of history and the perspectives that come with them. /OT

wv: disson

OK, now I'm cracking up.

Althouse is really* latching on to this new pirate description.

I hope she has sense enough to stop the celebration of this description before she puts it under her name at the top of the blog?

*presumably this is an non-lame use of the word 'really'.

Ann Althouse, dirty libtard pirate whore.

Patty Smyth, definitely. Or anyone, for that matter -- just don't ever make me click on a "Lady Gaga" video again, I beg of you.

My penis still hasn't come out from hiding.

Paddy O -- nice image. See if you can find one a little more...dirty. A palette cleanser after that "Lady Gaga" nightmare.

Never mind.

I'm not sure when she changed the description under her name, but since I last checked, prior to my related comment, she has gone ahead and made the change which seems tacky to me.

Different strokes for different folks.

Maybe you and Meade are playing pirates later but that Patty Smyth video just gave me an idea.

My wife has this mini kimono "happy coat" that is kinda like Patty Smyth's. It works for me.

It is friday, the kids will soon be asleep, so let the games begin.

With lyrics like...

Shooting at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang!

"You cannot be serious!"

Van Halen asked her to be lead singer pre-Hagar.

Not sure how a girl convincingly sings "hot for teacher" or numerous other things from their catalog...

Dang. That makes her the stepmother of the late Farrah Fawcett's step-grandchildren.

What we have here is blog-pirating, which results in a rising tide.

For a slightly different take: X-Ray Spex's "Warrior In Woolworths".

Yum...Poly Styrene in uniform & cap.

"Warrior in woolworths
Dips on friday nights

She's the rebel of the modern town"

I really liked that video back when it came out. It was big, big, big in school!
Patty Smyth could outbelt Pat Benetar.

Victory (a bad word these days) is Mine!!

The one cover someone linked to started with the girl saying that few could walk the line between generic 80's and Janice from the Muppet Show, but that Lady Gaga walks that line.

Pretty funny.

Thing is... Patty Smyth is genuine 80's. I think her voice is better, too.

But I can't decide if she gets points off or not for the costumes and stuff on account of I can't decide if she was serious about it or not. Lady Gaga is being silly on purpose. I'm afraid it's possible that Patty Smyth wasn't. But anyway... either way, is that points on or off?

Patty Smyth may be my favorite 80s girl singer, and look at how cute, sassy and sexy she is in Goodbye To You.

Like it's not all about the flirting. As if.

When I saw the word warrior, my mind immediately jumped to this heavy metal video, Warriors of the World, by Manowar.

As cheeseball as it is, I always liked Scandal's THE WARRIOR, and Patty Smyth is a sexy woman and powerful singer. Lady Gaga is fun, with some catchy tunes, but she's not sexy to me--she's someone who's trying hard to be sexy...and mysterious, through her David Bowie shtick of sdopting odd outfits and a patina of gender-bender outrageousness.

The oddest thing is that for a brief time, Patty Smyth was married to Richard Hell.
