Painted and photographed.

Wow!

ADDED: For those who object to going to Andrew Sullivan's blog, go here to get directly to the photographer's page. And it is a photograph, not a painting. That's why I said "wow."

Well, that sucks. I just clicked through a link to Andrew Sullivan; whom I despise and to whom I have sworn never to click. Ohhh, I hate it when that happens.

:-(

Back to having to hover the mouse cursor over every link and reading the popup URL again.

It looked like a painting - so I must have missed a link or something.

Like Paul, I try not to indulge Andy too much, so this is my visit for the year.

Fuck- I NEVER want to click on AS's blog.

A little warning, please.

That was awesome.

It's a photograph of a model who was painted.

Thanks for adding the new link. I generally think blog boycotts are a little silly but Andy's bad behavior makes him an exception.

As to the picture, I've seen similar done before but this photographer went the extra mile to make the background fit the model's makeup, very well done indeed.

Amazing!

The only way to see that she is 'real' and not a painting is to look closely at her fingertips and fingernails.

Very cool

Well, it's a photograph, but I wouldn't say, "It's not a painting." Well done for sure. Enjoyed the picture and skipping Andy.

LOL. Pissin' off the wingnuts by linkin' to the fag! Good call on the NSFW warning.

First thought: her head looks like the missing bird head from the picture the wall.

I rank this with the ability to whistle Mozart as one of those skills that are a testament to human virtuosity without in any way being enviable or lucrative. It's very meta but it does not achieve the ideal of infinite regression. I'm hoping that a photorealist painting of this picture will take us a step further towards the navel sucking perfection that is the goal of all true art.

Actually my beef with Sullivan is more personal than political- I contributed material that he featured on his old blog and failed to credit me. Then again Glen Reynolds did the same thing and I still read Instapundit, so maybe the personal is political like the lefties say!

This might be post of the year (so far).

Not because of that photo (and I said wow also) but because it is now painfully clear that the internet is routing around Andrew Sullivan.

It's the Moana Lisa.

297. Of course, if water boils in a pot, steam comes out of the pot and also pictured steam come out of the pictured pot. But what if one insisted on saying that there must also be something boiling in the picture of the pot?

We are back to the pipe that isn't a pipe, aren't we?

Steam would ruin the paint--particularly if one were working with acrylic. And even, eventually, if one were working in oil-based paint.

I came across Frary's site some time ago and found it very enjoyable and worthwhile exploring. I assume AA, being the avid photographer she is, took the time to look at his other photos. I encourage others to do the same.

tg: good pun. From the Hawaiian, Ala Moana means path to the sea. The shopping center is by the ocean.

Lovey!

Why is AS posting it though? I hope he is not going to get all worried about her uterus...

We don't object to the link, we object to the unlabeled link.
