Bulldogs vs. Blue Devils.

I'm watching — out of the corner of my eye — because I'm married... to a Hoosier.

I'd love to see the upset...my brain says "Duke", but my heart says "Butler"

Butler leads, 1-0!

A WolverBadgerine should have no problems with any Hoosier....

Duke is gonna win this by 20 but I'm rooting for Butler.

Trivia. Butler hasn't lost in 2010.

Duke is resented among the ACC because of something in their attitude that says they are better because their name Duke. These Bulldogs are well able to beat them.

Butler so far:

Good defense.
Good rebounding.

Shooting--not so good.

Somebody get hot and Butler wins.

One point game--where Butler wants it.

Somebody gotta shoot better though.

Hoosier daddy?

Indiana has a lock on sports movies with Hoosiers and Breaking Away.

My favorite Indiana movie is still A History of Violence. We will see if Butler can put a violent defense on these Devils like Indiana guys once did to Tecumpseh's team.

Duke will win and most will be sad but we can enjoy those fleeting moments of optimism and afterwards be optimistic about something else.

It ain't over until the fat referee sings out another bad call against Butler.

Fook Duke.

13.6 to go ......

So close.

Tough night for Gordon Heyward. Too bad.

Bummer. That charging call on Heyward (when Scheyer slid into his path AFTER Heyward left his feet) was the difference.

Great game, though.

Meade said...

Yeah, it really was a great game. Butler can hold heads high.

avwh said...

Oh - and there may never be an NCAA championship game with more white guys on the court at once than there was tonight (NTTAWWT).

David said...

Duke tactics: Foul Heyward--see if they get called.

It worked.

After watching the game, and seeing Matt Howard's unfortunate grooming choices, I nominate this as "Tweet of the Day"

from SportsPickle:

Matt Howard is a two-time Academic All-American, yet not smart enough to shave off that mustache. Sad.

Truer words have never been tweeted.

Great effort by Butler, so-so effort by Duke, congrats to both teams for making the Finals, and congrats to the Blue Devils for holding on for the title.

Good game although I was half asleep through most of it. I went to Butler for a year so it was nice to see them give it a go.

Duke University - the best school that tobacco money could buy. Though the folks at Wake Forest would dispute that!

Duke never had to play a #1 seed!

Damn, I was all set to scream ......Butler did it Butler did it!

Great game. Fun to watch. My dad's a Hoosier, too. He grew up just a couple miles from the Butler campus and talked my ear off about Butler and 1950's Indiana basketball, on Sunday. Good times.

But the important Final (Frozen) Four starts Thursday for Badger fans.

what, what happened? Why didn't you guys wake me up? Can I still bet on Butler?

Ahhh.... Indiana. A state where the by-products of its principle industries, agriculture and unregulated chemicals, comfortably co-exist in the bodies of its mutated inhabitants.

Home healing from a horseback riding accident, so have the time to mess around on the computer. Saw Prof. Althouse first on bloggingheads.tv and then found her blog. I agree with most of her views, and even if I didn't I wouldn't complain. What a beautiful lady and what a great smile. We didn't have law professors like her in my day (early 60s). Indeed, I had only one female teacher -- nice lady but definitely not a dish. Plus, Amy roots for Butler. I'm smitten.
