Dumb fight...

... picked.

I honestly hope this is the October Surprise. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out this is the best, from a DNC standpoint, that they could come up with. Amateur hour...

One would think that a practiced pol like Axelrod would know better.

Lest we forget, remember how the Obama campaign allowed credit card contributions in foreign currencies from foreign ISPs, turned off the inherent address verification software, and failed to ask the required certification questions.

The interesting question is who the intended audience was for that dumb fight. It wasn't anyone who cared about the election, let alone the truth. Instead, it had to be folks who were likely to accept a conspiratorial explanation for O's problems and the dire problems facing Dem candidates. Even among die-hard Dem voters, that's a very small audience. That Team Obama is still trying to get those folks engaged is as astonishing a measure of the Dems' problems this cycle as one could possibly see.

I raised this in the Publius thread. Do these people do their homework at all? I mean do they check what is happening on their side of the fence or do they just assume the media will cover up everything and that there's no Internet? This isn't lazy or arrogant, it's just plain stupid.

Tell me again, how did this crowd get elected?

Traditional lawyer's strategy: If the facts are on your side, then argue facts. If the law is on your side, then argue law. If neither one is on your side, then make something up and pray for confusion. The Time Delay inherent in the Court system can become pressure for a fair if not good settlement(this admission is expressly made for Trooper's benefit). The election day is in two weeks...Obama is making something up and praying for confusion.

I'd like to teach the Democrats to sing in per-fect har-mo-ny. Then we could go at least one news cycle without the President saying one thing without the rest of the Democratic establishment having to backtrack.

Next up for attack: That sketchy Librarian of Congress. Surely up to no good. Nominee of Reagan, I understand...

Hypocrisy thy name is Obama.

The WH tried to walk the story back.

From the article: This isn’t illegal. The money comes from American employees of the foreign corporations.

Do you get that anonymous unlimited money from anywhere in the world is different from donations from American citizens living abroad?

Sooo..... let me repeat that for you, in case you didn't get it.

This isn’t illegal. The money comes from American employees of the foreign corporations.

This isn’t illegal. The money comes from American employees of the foreign corporations.

This isn’t illegal. The money comes from American employees of the foreign corporations.

Again, I see no reason why a law can't be crafted that exposes this.

Two issues (at least). PAC money which at best appears to be fungible and legal although unsavory; and then there is situation cited by Drill Sgt re the outright us of untraceable credit card donations to Mr Obama's campaign--which is deliberate mmisbehavor.

Libtard: Do you get that anonymous unlimited money from anywhere in the world is different from donations from American citizens living abroad?

"Democrats have acknowledged they have no evidence the groups are taking money from abroad and using it to fund political attack ads ahead of the midterm elections, but they argue that in the absence of tougher campaign disclosure rules, it's entirely possible."

Get back to me when you finally get it.

Madison Man--I take issue only with your use of "crafted." Laws are not crafted; they are defecated: re the recent health care bill and others too numerous to mention. The use of the verb "craft" in terms of legislation is an insult to craftsmen everywhere.

Or to crystalize it for you:

"Democrats have acknowledged they have no evidence that Montagne Montaigne is a child molestor ...but it's entirely possible.

Yes, you really are this dumb.

Most do, but just don't care. To others like Fen, just too fucking dense to get it.

Oops!

Guess Harry hasn't heard that foreigners did the actual digging out.

BUHWAHAHAHAHA!

I am sure there is foreign money being contributed to both parties, though with the transnational companies, I do not know how you can tell which is which.

However, I understand the specific charge made by Axelrod was about the Chamber of Commerce, and the CofC actually is very careful about this and only accept operating dues from their foreign affiliates, and these funds are kept separate from any domestic political contributions.

Let me get this straight. Ann Althouse is quoting a blog post from the right wing blog Hot Air which, in turn quotes the Karl Rove group, American Crossroads and then holding that up as factual?

Really? That's sensible to you?

Meanwhile, the Republican/Tea Party demonstrate their respect for the freedom of the press: think handcuffs

Now Republican/Tea Party candidates are accompanied by thugs who will toss handcuffs on reporters who ask uncomfortable questions.

Bear in mind, this is the same Republican/Tea Party candidate who loves Eat German border control techniques:

During that time, he [Joe Miller] said, "East Germany was very, very able to reduce the flow" from one side of the border to the other. "Now, obviously, other things there were involved. We have the capacity to, as a great nation, obviously to secure our border. If East Germany could, we could."

Wow, so you're going to pick one TP guy in Alaska and keep harping on it over and over like it matters?

Fine, I haven't followed the story, but if the Alaskan TP guy did something bad, shame on him. Hope he loses.

Better now?

Pretty typical. What Obama is accusing Republicans of doing ISN'T ILLEGAL EITHER.

But we do understand how the rules work. "It's legal" is only a defense if it's a Democrat practice. Hypocrisy is only a problem when the accused don't freely admit to being scumbags. And no one at all cares where Obama got his donations in 2008. Nothing to see here.

But go ahead and keep on splitting those hairs. Voters no doubt are impressed by the flim-flam. And all of the right thinkers have long ago agreed that "right" and "wrong" is defined by which side you're on.

The security detail was a condition of the school to hold a rally there and was not hired by Miller or his campaign. The twerp had tried several times to get in Miller's face and tried to prevent him from leaving. Miller was already gone when the twerp in question picked a fight with one of the guards. That's what happened.

Alpha really needs to hit the refresh button on his browser once in a while, not to mention his brain. This is one of a series of stories where he's been caught with his Underoos down.

I Goddamned well haven't forgotten these felonies and I sure as hell hope that when the Republicans take back our country on November 2 that they haven't forgotten either.

Crimes have been committed. And we are either a nation of men, or we are a nation of laws.

If we are a nation of mere men, then I will make it my business to act manly in the furtherance of my political aims and woe be unto the Democrat Party and every single one of its members I can get into range.

But if we are a nation of laws then the Congress of the United States of America has a duty.

And that duty is to hold the President of the United States up to the laws duly passed by the people who represent us. The President is not above the law. Richard Nixon wasn't. And Barack Obama can't be either.

And Republicans had better understand that they're going to get one - final - shot at doing the right thing.

If Republicans refuse to do it, then it will be the end of the Republican Party and the beginning of a party with the backbone to hold the President accountable for the felonies he has been committing in the furtherance of his Socialist desires.

The President of the United States is a felon. It remains to be seen whether there is a political party in the United States willing to do anything about that and to keep America a nation of laws.

It's only a dumb fight if the media report the numbers when they report Obama's slurs. Which, for the most part, they haven't.
