At the Protest Virus Café...

DSC00147

... I'm trying to claw my way out of the grip of whatever it is that infected me. Meade went out to keep his 9 a.m appointment with the rotunda — did you go in to meet him — but I slept on, sweating out the last of the fever. And now it's almost 11, and I'm finally up and drinking some coffee. Time for me to rummage around the internet and scatter some posts up here for you dear readers before Meade comes home with the footage for me to edit. I'm here

Start here: Madison Mayor Colluded With Unions.

(Glad you're feeling better, incidentally.)

Artists - hard left and supported by the state. Was it ever thus?

Remember the Look For The Union Label. song from the 70s?

Look for the union label
When you are buying a coat, dress or blouse.
Remember somewhere our union's sewing
our wages going to feed the kids and run the house,
We work hard but who's complaining.
Thanks to the I.L.G. we're paying our way.
So, always look for the union label,
it says we're able
to make it in the U.S.A.

That's the best he(the "artist")'s got?

A limp Andy Warhol knock-off?

PS If your disease is anything like mine was, you may be sweating out the fever for a couple of days. Take it easy, force fluids (The Gospel Accoding to Blonde), and kiss your husband (preferably someplace where you won't re-infect him) when he gets back for being ANN's most intrepid correspondent.

Yeah, that was my thought: there may very well be some artists against Walker, but this poster isn't proof of that.

Yay! I thought you'd foresaken us news-hungry readers!

That sign is deep. When one looks at it, one can see the artistic struggle within, arrayed against the forced without. The simplicity allows the artist's message to resonate with the viewer in a way that no other work can. The juxtApositikn of color against the black and white speaks to the ever-present struggle of The People against The Man. This piece moves me my soul like spiritual fiber.

I'm a Shaaaaark, you may be right. It is something of a spiritual laxative.

The letters don't bunch up and get smaller at the right-hand edge.

Planning is everything in art, but not politics.

Exactly, he/she/they could at least photo-morph a Koch Bro into Walker.

You're right about resting and forcing fluids. I also hit the water soluble Vit C hard...every 4 hours (Emergen-C packets)...the force is strong with this bug...it took three days to defeat it.

Unknown said...

Same with me.

It took The Blonde 10 days.

My God, artists are here! I'm suddenly cowed into submission! The unions have a secret weapon -- ARTISTS!

Once the dirty hippies are scrubbed clean by the Tea Partiers, fewer Wisconsin citizens will become sick with mysterious diseases.

Kent: Thanks for the link to the review of the NYT article. It seems to me that the unions are making a last stand in Wisconsin because they see an existential threat in the majority of other states and know that Wisconsin's fiscal situation is not quite as desperate as that of many other blue states. Wisconsin is the heart and soul of Progressivism and has long been a leader in establishing workers' rights, as well as the point of origin for public sector unions. If AFSCME loses Wisconsin, it is done.

Was Meade there? 'Madison is Only the Beginning! Communist Michael Moore Calls for Revolution at Wisconsin Protest'.

I hope it's not the full blown flu. Been going around Blacksburg since December. I had a fever spiking to 102 every afternoon for four days. After the fever a cough for a week. Mead should be on the couch until the fever is gone. Sorry. Get well soon.

...is that a Mr Brainwash piece?

Well, I sure hope they're answering direct questions and not trolling other blogs.

You need to change your focus.

This obsession with these douchnenozzles is just not healthy.

Meade needs to spend less time flirting with Lori Berension waif protest chicks and more time feeding you chicken soup. Just sayn'

Chicken soup is for children. Try a hot toddy. Maybe two or three.

@Trooper York:
"You need to change your focus."

No, no, no. This is where I get about 98% of my information about what's going on with the Unionistas and Scott Walker.

Real news is hard to come by on Lookout Mountain and this site is a Godsend.

Allens is correct.

But then he knows his firewater.

But dude they have gone beyond the bend. The blogger lady is exhibiting signs of the Stockholm syndrome. She is busy defending these douchnozzles. Every post is about this nonsense and nothing is changing. Day after day with the same unrelenting bullshit. Ignoring vital current events like the top ten American Idol picks and the start of Celebrity Apprentice. It's like the freaking Iran hostage situation all over again.

What got me through the flu (gastro followed by respitory) in January?

Sweet Potatos. Honest and truly. After reading what someone wrote here about baking them until they caramelize, I made several batches because they smelled and tasted so good and comforting. Followed of course by hot tods with honey when it came to the respiratory version,to soothe and help with the cough and congestion
