"Rep. Holt beats Watson the super-computer at 'Jeopardy!'"

He's a Democrat — even though his first name is Rush — but he's not your run-of-the-mill Democrat: "He's a five-time "Jeopardy!" champion and a nuclear physicist..."

Congrats to Rush Holt! Or do you think the MSM is in the tank for the Dems and rigged this somehow?

Rush Holt - sounds like the hero in a bodice ripper.

Well, if his reflexes and quick recall are good enough, I'm sure it's possible.

I'm sure Holt is very intelligent but

"Cassidy and Holt were among the five members of Congress taking part in Monday's bipartisan "Watson vs. Members" tournament. They were joined by Reps. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and Nan Hayworth (R-N.Y.). "

leads me to think they dumbed the machine down for the congress-crtitters.

Now, if it had just been him and not a "special" event involving other critters, I would be impressed.

Not the MSM. Maybe the computer programmers . . . liberal academics, right?

I'm joking, really I am . . .

How does Watson do with Visual Jeopardy questions?

Henry said...

Answer: "High speed rail"
Question: "Isn't it wonderful?"

No computer can win that contest.

The human ability to find a way to win eventually out paces the tricks in any computer that was programmed by men. The Dems and their kissing cousin RINOs are very good thinkers, but so are the Tea Party leaders who can eventually find a way to win.

I was hoping Watson would be on Dancing With the Stars this season, but I guess not.

Ralph Macchio is. But to that I say close but no cigar.

Soros greased Watson's palms.

Did Holt get some of the Double Jeopardy questions? The computer getting them all last time seemed to be a possible influence on its win.

It would be interesting to run test games with three computers and see how much importance finding the Double Jeopardy questions has in who wins the game. Not televised games, just tests to see how much luck plays into it when you have three equally matched players.

Good idea, Mary Beth.

"A Lib Named Rush"

We lost the election, back in 0-eleven
‘Cause it ain’t like in was way back in ‘07
When we ran against the only guy we could beat, and that was Bush.
Now, don't blame us cause we run and hid
But the lamest thing that my Daddy did
Was before he left, he went and named me "Rush."

Well, he must o' thought that he was quite a comedian
And it got a lot of gasps from a' lot o the media,
It seems I had to fight to live a life that’s plush.
Some gal would fili, but I'd vote red
And some guy'd bust a union and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, life ain't easy for a Lib named "Rush."

Well, I grew up with Hoffa, I grew up with Meany,
F.I.S.T. got me hard and my soul got greedy,
I'd run from my own townhall without any shame.
But I made a vow to the moon and stars
That I'd search the links and latte bars
And kill that man who gave me that awful name.

I'm more surprised that an intelligent person is a Democrat.

It calls his intelligence into question.

So, no question on economics?

I want to know Watson's opinion on Mac vs PC.

I was just watching CNN now and they said that it was a slower version.
