That 55-yard touchdown catch.

Beautiful!

What's truly beautiful about that play is how badly he burned those DB's. They can try to blame it on the defensive scheme they were in at the moment, but two of them were burned.

Given the dearth of white receivers in the NFL lo these many years, when do I get to start feeling pride in white guys accomplishing things like that?

I didn't watch the whole game, but I did notice two Packer vulnerabilities. Da Bears pass rush made the Packers offensive look suspect and the Bears were able to run the ball effectively.

Along those lines my son's comment:

"My next tattoo will definitely be Josh McCown dunking the ball after the two-point conversion."

I am going with the Pack to repeat this year in the super bowl because of Aaron Rogers. While its true they have issues on defence, generally speaking, its the QB who usually makes the difference in championship games. The only guy who has a shot to upset them is Tom Brady of NE.

They also have issues on offense...three lineman out.

And they have to win two games to get to the Super Bowl. The Packers have to get past the Saints and Drew Brees.

Jordy Nelson - the underestimated white guy! LOL!

The Bears D had one sack and no picks!

‘OK, he’s the white guy, he can’t be that good.’

From that linked article Michael provided. Skin color has zero to do with the ability to catch a thrown pass. Speed? Sure, but you still have to catch the ball in the end. Honestly, I'm seeing more and more white guys in those skill spots of late and the question of whether or not we can be proud because of it has occurred to me before.

I watched that game last night. Rodgers threw that ball a tad over 60 yards and hit Nelson in perfect stride. They showed Rodgers numbers when throwing to Nelson, nearly a perfect QB rating.

Nelson and Rodgers could be a legendary pair, like Montana-Rice, Stabler-Biletnikoff, or Unitas-Berry.

The Packer's defense sucks though. They've given up more yards than they've made, as the did last night - Bears: 441, Packers: 363.
For 2011 - Opponents: 6184, Packers: 6158

If it hadn't been for turnovers, the Bears would have had the Packers sweating bullets last night. McCown looked pretty good to me. I hope he gets more opportunities.

just an observation. a post made prior to this deals with ron paul and his racial values. and now a comment thread about a white wide receiver. i believe it's just serendipitous. but it's certainly interesting.

Hard not to love Jordy Nelson's game. Big, fast, strong, and he makes his cuts at full speed. Nothing quite like the sight of Jordy Nelson streaking through the secondary, always seeming to be moving faster than anyone around him. NBC had some fabulous shots of the crowd last night, and of the eye communication between Rodgers and his receivers at the line, particularly when they were going to the back shoulder throws. Which looks impossible to stop.

I'm a Cal fan, so I've been following, and rooting for Aaron Rogers for a long time. But he's in for a challenge if my Niners come to town.

Admittedly, I didn't watch the whole game, but the during the portion that I did see, the Packer's left tackle was getting beat like a rented mule.

Jeez, the video at that "NFL Game Highlight" site is the equivalent of a cave painting.

In quality or are you saying something about the poster and viewers?

Indeed so. Packer fans shouldn't sleep on the 'Niners. With a defense that leads the league in fewest points surrendered, a pass rush that doesn't rely on blitz packages, that suffocates the run; with an offense with a QB who doesn't turn the ball over, a power, time consuming run game; special teams that always win the field position battle, and a team that leads the league in turnover ratios, no one should want to play the 'Niners, at home or on the road.

They're a very physical, well-coached team; these aren't your father's "finess team" 'Niners. They'll hurt you and make you bleed.

Speed? Sure,...

Scott, if skin color had anything to do with speed, you'd see a much better performance from India in the Olympics.

The DB released Nelson to the safety, the safety bit on the flag move, then Nelson went hard to the post...the safety was toast at that point. Rodgers rarely misses those, he's the best right now. No question.

The Packers o-line has had a lot of injuries. Brian Bulaga and Chad Clifton should both be back for the playoffs.

Given the fact that they were held to just one sack (which was Flynn taking a dive so the clock would keep running), and Julius Peppers was a complete non-factor, I think they did a fine job.

@Curious George: My next tattoo will definitely be Josh McCown [...]

I believe those words trigger an automatic 3-week cooling-down period in 47 states.
