"How 'massive' is Obama’s tax cut/tax increase?"

Depends on how you look at it, but WaPo's Fact Checker ends up with 2 Pinocchios.

The WaPo is the last one to be handing out Pinocchios, since its new poll has a sample that runs 24% Republican and 33% Demo.

Question: Will the amount paid in taxes be increasing?

Answer: Yes.

Then it is a tax increase. The rest is just Orwellian word games.

No one speaks the truth about taxes.

However, I immediately dislike and distrust any talk of setting cut-off limits at some arbitrary figure. The Alternative Minum Tax fiasco that is now hitting people far below the level it was intended to reach is an example of why.
That they are still talking this way is a clear warning of demagogues at work.

Or, will the amount paid be staying the same?

AA: Yes

Then it is not a tax cut.

What "Obama tax cut"???

There is none. He has not proposed one.

In any event, were the members of the Stupid Party smart, which they are not, e.g. John Boehner, then they would, in addition to (1) maintaining the Bush tax cuts PERMANENTLY, rather than this gimmicky one-year crap, they would also (2) immediately and loudly pass a middle-class tax cut by repealing the ObamaCare Tax, leaving repeal of the rest of the monster for another day.

If you are a welfare deadbeat there is no increase to your taxes.

If you are a net taxpayer, get the Vaseline in bulk. If you are an average tax payer you to will get hit, in the increases in prices to pay for these tax hikes, in jobs that aren't available for those who want to switch jobs, for all else being the same the additional drop in your 401k values......

Obama doesn't get it.

Note: Maryland adds 24 new taxes or fees in recent years; rich flee state costing $1.7 billion in lost tax revenues.

But that will teach 'em!

If lowering the rate of increase on current spending level is called budget cut, why can't raising the rate on current tax level be called a tax increase?

Don't forget Obama's "tax cut" will sunset next year. To paraphrase the OpenMic: after the election, he will have more "flexibility" to let the sun totally set on Bush's tax cut.

Only the stupidest voters would believe in an Obama tax cut. Alas, there are lots of those who believed in Hope-and-Change.

Who knows how massive it is? Part of the problem is much of the tax will be hidden in the form of increased insurance premiums. Hit the middle class more for all these welfare cases. We know the ownership class won't.
