"Jogging with Zeus on Picnic Point."

Yesterday, at moonrise, dog, man, and new GoPro camera get a workout. If you hear music, it's the UW Marching Band.

Do I understand correctly that Zeus is not even your dog? If so, how are you and Meade going to give him up?

Even when it is your dog, you have to give him up in the end.

Plus we like borrowed dogs.

Poetic. But you three seem like a family, and Zeus (like almost all dogs) is a really good dog.

It's different when the dog is permanent. I'm gonna cry my eyes out when Nika goes, but I'm glad to have her.

My son's artistic rendering of Madison, for a friend who had to move away.
It has a few dogs in it.

Madison...through our weird college-tinted glasses

Enjoy it while you can.

In the new left-wing-forever America, you'll be banned from all of this.

Thanks for giving us President Stepin Fetchit, Annie A.

Proustian shock of six summers of camp in Wisconsin returning in a rush at the sight of the edge of the water, the leaves on the ground, and the light.

Thanks for this.

@Pogo I love the drawing. Would your son permit me to front page it?

Geez, he'd be thrilled, of course. I'll let him know, but he never says no to people showing his work.

For students, yes.

Loved it. Now I'll not have actually go out and exercise today. You did it for me. Go Pro looks like a blast!

Yeah, actual ice this time.

But Labs can take it.

That puppy is having FUN!

As far as that dog knows, every time you leave the house without him, that's where you go and that's what you do.

God, what a good dog!

Quantum takes off at a dead run and stops and starts where the mood hits her.

Of course, at 7 pounds, she can be controlled.

No, dear, you never give them up. Zeus, Bingo, and Joey will always have a place in your heart.

And Holly.

So much more interesting than teachers protesting, no offense intended.

The GoPro is fantastic. It adds a bit of dog's pov, I could almost smell things as Zeus is sniffing back and forth on lead like a sniffing windshield wiper. And then the water wake and the shifting rocks through fisheye.

I love the way Zeus wisely sets down the stick, shakes, then picks up the stick.

I wonder if he'd do that with a duck. Very tenderly in his mouth so not to damage it.

I am certain none of my Belgians would do that.

Unless there was a Lab present then it would be all jealous competition but only while the Lab is present.

I was wondering if that was a head cam before I clicked the link, because in that one scene he had the leash in one hand while using the other to untangle that branch.

I was going to ask if I read correctly in another thread that Zeus is the neighbor's dog, but that was answered above. Meade has to be like his most favorite uncle. Zeus must hit the food dish when he wakes up, goes out for his morning constitution, then runs over to your porch to see if Meade can come out and play.

Nice hiking trail, btw. That does look like a nice spot for a picnic.
