God dog.

Photos, video, and editing by Meade. The soundtrack is in the public domain, but here's the music Meade would use if it were easy to get permission from The Incredible String Band, which I'm nearly sure they would grant. Feel free to mute the sound on Meade's video and play the music at the link.

I would be interesting to know if that tragic Chiefs player had a dog. If not he should have.

Loved the vid, thanks.

Lovely. It's touching to see how Joey and Bingo accepted Zeus into the pack.

Forget permission from Incredible String band, did Meade get permission from the Comanche Nation for use of the term, "god dog".

PS Aren't they all, even doggie diva Quasy, Mrs Insecure Quantum, and he of the peanut brain, Sherlock?

"My sentiments exactly,
You son of a bitch..."

I Palindrome I

Someday mother will die and I'll get the money
Mom leans down and says, "My sentiments exactly,
You son of a bitch"

I palindrome I (I palindrome I)
I palindrome I (I palindrome I)

And I am a snake head eating (snake head)
The head on the opposite side (snake head)
I palindrome I (manonam)
I palindrome I (manonam)

See that bulletproof dress hanging from the clothesline
See the medical chart with the random zig-zag
Now I'll help it decide
I palindrome I (I palindrome I)
I palindrome I (I palindrome I)
And I am a snake head eating (snake head)
The head on the opposite side (snake head)

I palindrome I (manonam)

"Son I am able," she said "though you scare me."
"Watch," said I
"Beloved," I said "watch me scare you though." said she,
"Able am I, Son."

See the spring of the grandfather clock unwinding
(Egad, a base tone denotes a bad age)
See the hands of my offspring making windmills
(Egad, a base tone denotes a bad age)
Dad palindrome Dad
I palindrome I (I palindrome I)

And I am a snake head eating (snake head)
The head on the opposite side (snake head)

If Meade will promise to feed it and take care of it, can he please have a puppy for Christmas?

TMBG's "Dinner Bell" (Experimental dog, salivating dog, good dog.)

True story: The pugs we had when my husband and I first met, dated and then married were trained to come to their bowls when they heard this song. Got to the point where all you had to do was hum or sing the chorus phrase. Which ended up sort of sucking, because then we had to remember to never listen, play or sing that song if it wasn't time to feed the dogs (because that would have been too mean). We skipped all of that with our later pets.

What do the dog owners think of their dogs' celebrity on your blog?

Ah, to lead a dog's life, with a good owner that is. But really, the ISB song is perfectly synced with the video. Start the music, then the film within a couple of seconds.

If you play it on the television will the dogs watch? Will they alert when they hear their own barking? Will they understand?

Note that the uploader of the YouTube probably didn't get permission either. I've posted numerous videos using copyrighted material (Dylan, R.E.M., e.g.)for background. No problem, as long as I don't claim ownership & monetize the video. What usually happens then is that YouTube automatically monetizes the video (on behalf of the owner, I assume) & a link to I-Tunes and/or Amazon appears for anyone who wants to buy the song. Sometimes there are restrictions on where the video can be played - for awhile my R.E.M. couldn't be played in the United States and then a few months later that restriction disappeared.

I remember this, which I found, when I finally had the time, to go back and get the thing that's been ringing through my mind all this live-long day, despite/amongst everything else that passed through.

Steely Dan, introduced by Bill Cosby, performing "Reelin' in the Years" on Midnight Special.

Here's the LyricsFreak transcription of the the text.
