"Inmate hatched castration plot after Justin Bieber didn't return his love letters..."

We're told Dana Martin, 45, felt like a "nobody" in prison, and now, we're all talking about him. Pretty impressive: A prisoner — in for life after killing a girl — is able to seize the headlines. He should be a nobody, but now, he's been allowed to become a big old celebrity and to tie his name to that of a mega-celebrity:
Martin — who has a large tattoo of Bieber on his leg — offered $2,500 for each of Bieber’s testicles, which were to be snipped off with a pair of Fiskars Durasharp pruning shears last month, records show.
I think we should have prevented this: Martin's leap into fame.  And we should not be talking about "Bieber's testicles." Talk about Anne Hathaway's vulva if you want: She flashed photographers. But Bieber has kept his pants on and has nothing to do with the despicable nobody Martin.

Sorry to be part of the machine that is making Martin famous, but I want to call out everyone who's getting off on this story.

I know that it's possible for prisoners to commit crimes from prison by hiring others and that it's not automatically a big joke. But specifying the brand of the pruning shears and the pattern of the tie to be used for strangling (paisley) smells like dark comedy. It should not be this easy for a prisoner to amuse himself and aggrandize himself this way. Martin killed a 15-year-old girl and is a life prisoner: turn the spotlight elsewhere.

Just wondering - do you support the death penalty for murder?

The teenage girls in my class are NOT amused with Mr. Martin's antics from behind bars. Several of them have promised to tell their daddy's (also behind bars) to take out retribution. I have quietly informed them that he is confined in another state entirely. Sadness abounds among them.

We have so many people who oppose the death penalty tells us that life in prison is a worse penalty than death but they are projecting their own feelings. People in prison adapt and for some it might even be a good life, at least a life.

Bieber has testicles?

A prison inmate has access to $2,500?

Threatened castration is Entertainment's male version of vulva flashing.

Both are neutering, bringing low the high and mighty, a manifestation of envy.

Like Obamacare and raising taxes on 'the rich'. It's all the same game: destruction of the superior.

It is a devastating indictment of our society that we do not swiftly try, convict, and execute the killers of 15 year old girls.

Hmm. One migh think Bieber follows an old tradition.

Bob, in Kansas City, we have forgotten how it once was done. In the early 50's the killers of little Bobby Greenlease were executed in less than 100 days after the crime. We currently have two murderers on death row who killed a girl waiting for the bus in 1989.

No, it makes it more frightening, as it smacks of obsessive fetishism and masturbatory fantasizing.

Talk about an obsessive fetish!

You swift justice types might spend a little time looking at the number of exonerations in Texas! I've been a longtime supporter of capital punishment! But, we have had a number of exonerations here that has caused many of us to reconsider! Dallas County exonerated 21 people from 2001-2011 because of faulty forensic work!

No worries, Jim.

We get off-setting style points for allowing 15 year-old girls to get abortions without the knowledge of their parents...

Anyone who believes that paying more tax will lead to his own destruction cannot be regarded as superior. Only the weak and fragile can be destroyed by something as inconsequential as a small tax hike.

Ah, but the incredibly, eternally pissed off Jake is to be regarded as superior!

Only the weak and fragile disagree with the omnipotent Jake.

Jake isn't paying the tax, and doesn't want to hear any more complaints from anyone as he takes more from those who are paying the tax.

Capisce?

Jake, I'm noticing that you kinda like the lingo of Nazis and fascists.

Not that I'm accusing you of anything.

Sure has gotten tougher to be a teen heartthrob. Use to be the only worry was being run over by the mob of admiring fans. Castration, awful harsh on the Bieber.

Geoff Matthews said...

The death penalty, administered in a timely manner, would have prevented this.

Inconsequential indeed. All for rhetorical class warfare.

jacksonjay,
I don't know about Texas. I know that there was a confession and physical evidence in the Ann Harrision case and the killers haven't been executed in 23 years.

Unless you're trying to set up a bloggy Journolist, the only way to do that is to ignore the guy and the story. Which you're not doing. And I hadn't heard or read about any of this until seeing your blog.

You need a, "Heute Europa, Morgen die Welt", followed by a rousing, "Sieg Heil", from the crowd.

Typical incoherent crap from Timmy.

Since several Althouse lemmings (i.e., dumbshits) have become obsessed with my posts (e.g., Shouting Dumbass, edumbshit, Timmy), let me clarify something for you assholes. My political views are not shaped by what suits me financially. What benefits me personally isn't necessarily what's best for the country. So I'm willing to pay more in taxes, and in terms of good public policy, I think most Americans should pay higher taxes.

Unlike most of you whiners, I don't moan if my country asks more of me. The Althouse lemmings claim to be smarter, richer, harder working and more patriotic than the typical American, but you have temper tantrums worthy of a 2 year old with diaper rash at the prospect of paying a small amount more in taxes. You can't claim to be superior in any respect if a small tax hike causes you to blubber like a child with an ouchie.

You folks are really pathetic.

Shouting Thomas said...

What the fuck is all this superior shit about, Jake?

Like I said, you have a fondness for rhetoric that sounds vaguely fascist.

NTTAWWT!

And the "obsession" stuff! You sound like you're shiloh's evil, pissed off twin!

edutcher said...

Sounds like the man made of dumbshit is the one having a temper tantrums worthy of a 2 year old with diaper rash (a lot of 2 year olds are out of diapers, but the man made of dumbshit still appears to require one).

And the point is, we don't care if you want to pay more for a mess your Messiah created; it's that you expect us to do it, too, when there's a better and less cynically spiteful way.

I have a feeling, if the draft were to come back under a President Romney and full mobilization were necessary, the man made of dumbshit would moan all over the place if his country asked more of him.

Chip S. said...

Thank you for your voluntary payments to the US Treasury. I, for one, am impressed by your patriotism.

But why do you expect people to be happy about paying more taxes for spending that they oppose? You do know that federal spending as a pct. of gdp has only ever been higher during WW2, don't you?

Chip S. said...

And how the fuck did a thread about Justin Bieber's balls turn into another argument about fiscal policy?

Diamond showed up.

Geoff: "The death penalty, administered in a timely manner, would have prevented this."

Jesus, Geoff, I'm not a big fan of the Bieber either, but that seems a little harsh. Banishment would be fine.

Pastafarian said...

I hereby offer $12.50 for each of Jake Diamond's tiny testes. Plus a 6-pack of non-ironic Natty Light, should one person secure both nads.

They're to be removed using tweezers, a magnifying glass, black pepper, and a pair of tiny scissors you might use for fly-tying or embroidery.

Duct-tape Jake to a table and sprinkle pepper on his pubic region. Watch through the magnifying glass: When his little pecker sneezes, grab the balls with the tweezers and snip them with the scissors. You'll have to move fast, they won't be exposed for long.

In a better, more just country. Dana Martin would have been executed ( or retroactively aborted if you prefer) and Jack Diamond would be self-supporting instead of sponging off other people's money.

I ain't heard this story til I saw it here. Oh, the irony of bringing attention to a story you don't want to have attention.

I wonder if the prisoner has access to a computer...and finds this blogpost...and laughs. Suckah.

Anne Hathaway only exposed a bit of shaved mons pubis and a landing strip. There were no labia minora, labia majora, clitoral hood, wet split beaver shots.
