"Angus was 21 years old and living in Michigan when she started noticing the effects of gigantism."

"Her svelte, 5-foot-8, 135-pound figure vanished, replaced by too-big hands and feet and tight pants. She shot up three inches, and even her head was growing."

The same thing happened to Barry Bonds.

Rondo Hatton, briefly a Universal Studios "monster man" back in the 40s, suffered from acromegaly.

I believe the actor who played the dense, wealthy white guy on "The Jeffersons" had a similar, if not identical problem.

Did not Andre the Giant also suffer from this disease though I think he was in his 50's when he died.

A very sad story. Scary--I'm surprised that a growth problem could manifest itself at 21.

If only she were Belgian, all the pain and suffering could have been avoided and she'd still be beautiful in her last picture.

Tony Robbins has the tumor on his pituitary that causes acromegaly. Luckily it didn't get out of hand and he stopped growing when he was a young man.

But if you ever thought Robbins looked strange, that's why.

There's a scene in ZDT where the Seal Team is headed for the complex. The Seal played by Chris Pratt is listening to his ipod. When asked what music he was listening to by his buddy he says, "Tony Robbins." One of the few laughs in this great flick.
